The softening point of PP is 154°C, therefore conventional oven ready meals [cooked at 180°C by end users] are unsuitable for manufacture in PP. Charpak’s technical engineers will recommend the optimum blend ratio best suited for client requirements during the initial client consultation, as an integral part of the comprehensive technical specifications brief.
- Copolymer PP is best used for freezer proof products, and can be blast frozen. This PP is opaque and soft when heated.
- Homopolymer PP is a rigid PP, and is best recommended for microwaveable use.
- Metalsine Homopolymer PP is unsuitable for use in frozen temperatures and most effective for microwaveable products.
